Grit & Granite is Katherine Johnson’s first novel. It is a fictionalized account of real-life events that pitted her father and his partner against one of the largest US corporations. This story focuses on a small town lawyer, Colin Ford, and his relationship with a millionaire philanthropist and his wife, Alex and Evelyn Hughes. Colin finally escapes the confines of small town law to work for Alex Hughes, a multimillionaire who wants to spend his fortune on helping people. But before he even starts his new job, Alex dies and now Colin must fight to protect Alex’s legacy and Evelyn’s rightful inheritance.

We were able to getaway to Clifftop Condo in Ouray, Colorado for some socially distant relaxation in the hot springs and beautiful mountains.

In late January and early February of last year, Katherine and her husband Don, were able to visit the stunning island country of New Zealand. Their itinerary included stops on both the South and North Islands and included breath-taking journeys on trains, luges, and ferries. Check out the luge video and pictures at this link.   
 
We were so lucky to be able visit this beautiful island before the pandemic and are keeping the Kiwis and Aussies in our thoughts and prayers.
